Parade Magazine names High Point to College A-List

HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 20, 2010 - Parade Magazine has listed High Point University as one of the top 26 large private schools in the nation in the magazine's annual "College A-List. High Point University has also been honored in several national rankings, including "America’s Best Colleges” by Forbes.com, as well as "America's Best Colleges" 2011 edition, published by the U.S. News & World Report.

"It is an honor that High Point University has been recognized in this national publication, among several others," says Dr. Nido Qubein, president of HPU. "It is a true testament of the activity here on our extraordinary campus. Great things are happening at HPU."

The College A-List, which includes only 300 institutions across the nation, separates colleges and universities into several categories, including "State Schools," "Private Schools," "Arts Programs," "Combined Bachelor's/Graduate Degree," "Business and Accounting," "Great Internship Opportunities," "Health Sciences," "Flexible Scheduling," "Liberal Arts" and "Special Needs."

The colleges and universities ranked on the various lists were recommended by 43 high school guidance counselors from across the United States.

The list will appear in the publication on Sunday, Aug. 22. Parade Magazine appears in more than 510 Sunday newspapers across the United States.
